La Loire, Le Vin

barre_img_03.jpg"Tous les Vins sont dans notre nature"

The Loire Valley is the birthplace of the Renaissance. Vineyards grow between French gardens, sumptuous chateaux and beautiful manor homes. This region is blessed for many reasons, none the least of which is its wine. From West to East, four wine regions emerge; The Pays Nantais, The Anjou, The Touraine and the wines of "Pays du Jardin de la France".

Red wines are produced in the Anjou, Saumur-Champigny, Bourgueil, Saint-Nicolas de Bourgueil, Chinon, Touraine and Sancerre appellations.
We also offer two roses from the Cabernet d'Anjou and Rose de Loire appellations. The "terroir" of the Loire Valley offers perfect growing conditions for Cabernet Franc and Gamay. Soil conditions influence the wine's color, creating wines of brilliant purple, ruby and dark red. Wines form the region typically have aromas of red berries and flavours of spice with complex fine tannins.

White wine from the Loire Valley come from four primary appellations : Touraine, Quincy, Pouilly-Fumé and Sancerre.

Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc are two main varietals. Loire Valley Sauvignon blanc offers a rich, floral wine, with a generous body. The Cabernet Franc offers an incredible balance between flavors and body. Sweet aromas and fruit, such as black currant are often present. Quincy, Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé pair well with lobster, smoke fish and most seafood.

To be tested with emotion !
